This program supports elementary (1st through 6th grade) students from the State College Area School District ages 6 through 12. Additionally, 7th grade students who do not turn 13 until after Jan 1st AND who are not participating on a junior high team are also eligible. Our program is designed to teach these young athletes about wrestling and to help them develop physical and mental resilience.

The program is built around two levels/divisions:

Beginner: For new wrestlers being introduced to the sport for the first time and for younger returning wrestlers who are not ready for the intensity and focus required of our advanced level practices.

Advanced: Typically for wrestlers competing in their third year or more, but age and ability are also considered. Older wrestlers or those who are physically athletic and show an advanced propensity for the sport may also train in the advanced division.

If you are not sure which division to register for, select beginner unless your wrestler has been with our program for two years previously and you feel they are ready to move up to the more intensive advanced practices. After observing your wrestler at practice, if the coach feels they would be a better fit in the advanced class or vice versa, we will invite your to change practice levels.
