ALL volunteer coaches, assistants, and board members, unless explicitly noted, are required to complete all requirements of PA Title 23 Section 6344.2 (Volunteers having contact with children).  Documents can be submitted to the SCYW Secretary.   Save electronic copies of your results for ease of submission.

STEP 1. PA Child Abuse Clearance  (required every 5 years)

Creating an account and submitting your clearance application online will give you immediate access to your results or the status of your results if your results cannot be processed immediately.  Follow the instructions on the website.  This process is FREE for volunteers – simply select the “volunteer” option when prompted to do so on the registration form.  The clearance report can be printed and/or mailed to the applicant’s address.

STEP 2. PA State Police Clearance (required every 5 years)

To apply online, follow the instructions on the Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) website.  This process is FREE for volunteers – simply select the “new volunteer record check” button on the website.  Please write down the Control Number and the Request Date; this information will be required in order to inquire on the status of a record check.

STEP 3.
If you have NOT lived within the state of PA continuously for the previous 10 years, you must also complete an FBI fingerprint clearance, 

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has contracted with IDEMIA to process the FBI criminal history checks.  The first step is to enroll online. The registration website is https://uenroll.identogo.com.  To get Started, Enter service code 1KG6ZJ to proceed to the Pennsylvania DHS-Volunteer section.  Then select the "Schedule or Manage an Appointment" link to register.  We suggest  listing State College Youth Wrestling as your employer and our address is P.O. Box 345, Boalsburg, PA 16827

The second step is to get fingerprinted at a local location as directed on the website.  There is a cost (~$25) for this process.  Please check with us before submitting to get approval for reimbursement.

Note: if you have lived in PA continuously for the last ten years, the Federal check is NOT required and instead you can submit a sworn disclosure statement that we will provide.
