As we all know, COVID-19 has had a huge impact on our community and has changed the way we do things on a day to day basis.  We at SCYW believe strongly in maintaining opportunities in youth athletics for the kids in our community.  That being said, there are many things that are simply beyond our control, including the participation of other local programs, access to or use of SCASD facilities, and the availability of local tournaments.

To that end, much of the information you find on this website that pertains to how we "normally" do business will not apply to this season.  All we can promise at this time is to provide the best environment we possibly can for our wrestlers to learn and grow in the sport.

We will make every effort to schedule scrimmages and competition against other local programs, but many of them are struggling with the same issues of dependence on local school district buildings and equipment.  In order to create an alternate solution for SCYW, the board approved the rental of a local sports complex to host our practices and events (an estimated cost of $2,000 for the season) as well as the purchase of two competition size wrestling mats for our program (a cost of over $13,000).

We understand that in the current COVID-19 environment, many families may have additional financial struggles and therefore SCYW was committed to not raising our registration fees for the wrestlers.  However, if you are able to donate any additional funds to help offset these significant fixed costs, any amount is appreciated ($10, $25, $50, $100 or more).  Any donation above the registration fee is fully deductible as a 501.c.3 charity donation (EIN: 45-4215802).  An opportunity to donate funds will be provided at the end of your registration form.
